The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

11 A.M.
North Las Vegas police are dealing with a barricaded person in the 5000 block of Ferrell Street, near Washburn Road. Officers were called to a home on a domestic call between a son and his stepfather. The son reportedly assaulted the man and was not responding to police commands while armed inside the house. NLV police urged residents to avoid the area while the scene was active.

7 A.M.
Police say that a man was getting into a jeep near Boulder Highway and Desert Inn Road when someone pulled him out of the vehicle and took the Jeep. The person who took the vehicle crashed it into a van around the corner. The Jeep was disabled and the person ran away. Police are now trying to find that person. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

6:30 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responding to fire in laundry room of a 2-story townhouse at 2724 Ferrin Road.

2:26 A.M.
Police say a man rammed a stolen truck into a patrol car on Tahoe Court near East Vegas Valley Drive. Patrol officers located the stolen vehicle in the 2800 block and called for help. When additional officers arrived, the man got into the vehicle and drove into the police car. He then drove away and police began pursuit. The man drove the vehicle into a desert area near Sahara Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard and then started running. K9 officers responded and they were able to locate the man. He was placed into custody. No officers were injured.
