Las Vegas breaking news for May 8, 2018

This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for May 8, 2018.

4:40 P.M.

Las Vegas police report several people were shot in the 300 block of North Nellis Boulevard, near Stewart Avenue.

3:55 P.M.

About 4,000 customers are without power in Las Vegas, including Las Vegas police headquarters and University Medical Center. The hospital is running on backup generators. READ MORE

3:15 p.m.

The Clark County Fire Department responded to a fire at 1084 Lake Mead Boulevard, near Martin Luther King Boulevard.  Firefighters reported smoke and flames coming from the roof of a single-story vacant home. Fire crews knocked the fire down at 3:52 p.m.

4 A.M.

Henderson police say a bus caught fire shortly before 4 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada on Drake Street. No one was injured. A fire investigator was called to the scene. This is the same Boys & Girls Club that was hit by vandals last month. READ MORE

OVERNIGHT

A fiery crash in North Las Vegas overnight left one person injured. It happened near Cheyenne and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
