This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for May 2, 2018.

8:29 P.M.

Las Vegas police have an apartment unit surrounded with a man barricaded inside near Hualapai Way and Twain Avenue. Las Vegas police say they received multiple calls regarding a man wearing a business suit pointing guns at people inside the complex around 7 p.m. When police arrived, the man ignored commands and ran into an apartment unit. Police are asking citizens to avoid the area.

6:45 P.M.

The fire is out at the home in the 3200 block of Hill Valley. One occupant has been transported to UMC Trauma for smoke inhalation. 

5:50 P.M.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue is on the scene of a fire in the 3200 block of Hill Valley near West Cheyenne Avenue and Hualapai Way. Heavy smoke can be observed in the area. One male was seen running from the home. 

7 A.M.

A crash on southbound U.S. 95 and Tropicana Avenue is causing a back-up.
