The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

2:28 P.M.
Las Vegas police say a shooting happened in the 1400 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. A man was shot in the foot and his injuries are non-life-threatening. Gang detectives are on scene investigating.

8:09 A.M.
Two people were able to escape a kitchen fire at a residence located on the 3100 block of Roseville Way, near West Sahara Avenue and South Valley View Boulevard, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue officials report. Firefighters quickly put out the blaze. Damages are estimated at $30, 000 and the cause has been determined to be unattended cooking.

3:16 A.M.
A woman suffering from serious burns ran to a 7-Eleven after a fire broke out at a house located on the 400 block of Marion Drive, near Stewart Avenue and North Lamb Boulevard, according to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue officials. Firefighters initially responded to the home where the garage was engulfed in flames and smoke just as the roof collapsed. They received a call from the 7-Eleven located on Nellis Boulevard regarding the injured victim after putting out the fire and stopping it from reaching the main house. The woman was transported to UMC Trauma. A dog was killed by the fire. Damages are estimated at $50,000 and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

12:27 A.M.
A man is dead after a crash shortly before 12:30 a.m. near Decatur Boulevard and Sahara Avenue. Police say a Hyundai Tucson driven by a 24-year-old female hit a 1964 Volkswagen Beetle that was making a left turn. The 52-year-old driver of the Beetle died at a hospital. The occupants of the Hyundai sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Hyundai did not appear to be impaired.
