The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

10:14 P.M.
Clark County Fire Department responds to fire in mobile home at 6271 Great Smoky Ave. near Mt. Hood Street and Carey Avenue. CCFD says a mattress caught on fire. No injuries reported.

3:36 P.M.
DMV in North Las Vegas, located in the 7100 block of North Decatur Boulevard, was evacuated due to a suspicious package. Employees were allowed back into the building after police investigated an unattended backpack and an all-clear was given.

12:17 P.M.
One person was shot in the leg and another detained after an incident near Maryland Parkway and Tropicana Avenue, police say. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance shortly after 12:15 p.m. The person shot suffered non-life threatening injuries. No arrests were made.

10:24 A.M.
NV Energy shows a large power outage in Las Vegas. At this time there are 1933 customers without power in the valley. Just over 1800 of those customers are in the 89117 zip code. For updates on the outage click here.

6:40 A.M.
Chopper 13 was above the scene of police activity in a residential area around 6:30 a.m. near Bonanza Road and US-95. Police responded to reports of a prowler involving 3 subjects trying to get in the back yard of a private residence. Officers are waiting for K9 to search the area. No reports of injuries or road closures.
