The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

UPDATE 8:45 P.M.

Henderson police say SWAT has taken the man into custody in the barricade situation in the 3000 block of Paladi Avenue. There were no injuries.

6:23 P.M.

Las Vegas police are investigating a man shot in the face in the 1100 block of Oahu Street, near East Charleston Boulevard and U.S. 95. There is no suspect information at this time and the victim is in critical condition. Detectives are on scene investigating.

5:35 P.M.
Henderson police are working a barricade situation involving a person inside a residence in the 3000 block of Paladi Avenue, near Potenza Park, in an Inspirada neighborhood and north of Bicentennial Parkway. The person is possibly armed with SWAT also responding to the scene.

1:43 P.M.
Fire crews responded to two different apartment fires downtown on Stewart and North Eastern Avenues. Three departments were called to handle the two-alarm fire as flames were able to be extinguished quickly. No immediate cause was given with damages estimated at $15,000.

UPDATE 11:05 A.M.
Roads are open again and a man is in custody after threatening people with a curtain rod near Blue Diamond Road and Decatur Boulevard, authorities say.

10:48 A.M.
Cannon Junior High School near Russell Road and Eastern Avenue was briefly placed on lockdown because of a man with knives was on the property. Police say they arrested a man carrying a 15-inch machete and a tomahawk near the school's portables. Officers also found drug paraphernalia in the man's backpacks. Lockdown lifted at 10:53 a.m.

10:35 A.M.
Crews are responding reports of a man threatening people with a shower curtain rod near Blue Diamond Road and Decatur. Avoid the area.

5:30 A.M.
Henderson police are seeking help finding a missing person. Anyone with information is asked to call 3-1-1 or HPD at 702-267-4913.

UPDATE MARCH 26: Arrianna Round has been found and is safe.
