The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

1 P.M.
Las Vegas firefighters were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle crash with possible entrapment just after 1 p.m. at the end of Washburn Road in the far northwest part of the city. When firefighters arrived they found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

A passerby told told firefighters someone was still inside the vehicle. The passerby tried to rescue the person but the fire was too intense. The fire destroyed the vehicle. There was no accident involved and the vehicle was in the roadway. As with any fire that results in a fatality, the incident is currently under investigation by Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Arson Investigators, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Homicide Investigators and Crime Scene Investigations and the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

UPDATE 5/7/20: The Clark County Coroner has identified the body as 50-year-old William Karl Huckaby from El Paso, TX. His cause of death is still pending.

UPDATE 12:07 P.M.
Las Vegas Fire and Rescue says the fire is out on Jardin Avenue. Two adults and three pets have been displaced. One home is badly damaged and a second house has moderate damage, authorities say. Two dogs and one cat are being treated for smoke inhalation, no other reported injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and remains under investigation.

11:30 A.M.
Las Vegas firefighters are on the scene of a 2-alarm fire on Jardin Avenue, near Oakey and Valley View boulevards. Authorities say the house is fully involved and extending to a second house. Avoid the area.

UPDATE 9:16 A.M.
All lanes are now open again on the US-95 just north of Kyle Canyon Road following a rollover crash in the area, police say.

8:58 A.M.
Las Vegas police say crews are responding to a rollover crash on US-95 north of Kyle Canyon Road. Southbound 95 was closed briefly but is not open. Northbound lanes in the area remain closed, though police say a patient has been transported to the hospital and lanes may re-open shortly. Check back for updates.
