The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

8:40 P.M.
Firefighters responded to a fire at a home located at 7171 Paradise Bay Drive. Crews made an offensive attack and had the fire knocked down in about 10 minutes with damage estimated at $50,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

6 P.M.
Nye County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide. The body of an adult black male was found on the west side of U.S. 95 near State Route 373 on March 1. The man has not been identified. Distinguishing marks include the name "Brandie" tattooed on the man's neck. It appears he died of blunt force trauma.

UPDATE MARCH 27: Detectives identified and arrested 33-year-old Cristobal Ortiz-Hernandez in connection with the homicide. He is facing an open murder charge.

2:25 P.M.
A CCSD bus was involved in a collision with another vehicle in the area of Karen and Burnham avenues. There was a shooting nearby causing another driver to crash into the bus. No injuries were reported, and Valley High School was on lockdown for a short time.

6:32 A.M.
Police say a car crashed into a Starbucks near Paradise Road and Sahara Avenue just after 4:30 a.m. The driver is a woman in her 20s, believed to be under the influence. The driver and two other people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. This early morning crash at Starbucks comes just hours after another crash into a building the night before.

6:27 A.M.
NB Paradise Road north of Sahara Avenue is closed due to the crash.

5:56 A.M.
There is a crash on Sahara Avenue near Paradise Road, reports of a car that drove through a Starbucks drive thru wall. The intersection is open but crews are blocking 1 NB lane of Paradise. Stay tuned for updates.
