Las Vegas breaking news for July 22, 2018

This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for July 22, 2018.

11 P.M.

Las Vegas homicide detectives are investigating after a man was pronounced dead by medical personnel at a residence in the 600 block of Frederick Avenue, near West Lake Mead Boulevard and D Street around 6:45 p.m. It was determined that the cause of the death may be unnatural. Homicide detectives later determined the man died after laying down after a fist fight. The coroner identified him as 47-year-old Kevin L. Lee of Las Vegas. 4 P.M.

Las Vegas police received a call of two hikers stranded on Sunrise Mountain after losing their rope. Metro Search and Rescue responded to reach them and get them to safety. No injuries are reported at this time.

3:30 P.M.

Traffic headed to California is backed up for several miles on Interstate 15.
