The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.
11 A.M.
UPDATE (Aug. 12): The Clark County Coroner has identified the body as that of Benjamin Roy Shidelar. His cause of death was methamphetamine intoxication and has been ruled an accident.
Las Vegas police received a 9-1-1 call reporting an unresponsive person experiencing homelessness shortly after 9 a.m., according to authorities. When officers arrived at the scene on Rainbow near Lake Mead boulevards they found a dead man. The investigation remains ongoing.
6:30 A.M.
UPDATE (7/31/20): The Clark County Coroner has identified the victim as 48-year-old Brent Michael Lloyd. His cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
Las Vegas police are investigating a homicide near Decatur Boulevard and Pennwood Avenue (between Desert Inn and Sahara). Investigators say they will have an update at 7:30 or 8 a.m. 13 Action News has a crew at the scene, check back for updates. READ MORE
