Las Vegas breaking news for January 25, 2018

This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for January 25, 2018.

11:20 P.M.

At approximately 5:30 PM, a female student was walking in Lot L past the Tennis Complex when she was approached by a male who grabbed and assaulted her. The female was able to fight him off using her backpack and fled the area, the suspect male fled in an unknown direction.  

The suspect is described as a thin white male with dark shaggy hair, wearing a green down type jacket.

UNLV police are increasing patrols and its presence on campus as detectives continue their investigation. Anyone with information should contact UNLV police at (702) 895-3668.

5:59 A.M.

The Clark County Fire Department responded to a fire at 272 Sir Phillip Street, near Charleston Boulevard and Christy Lane.

Firefighters reported a small fire in a double-wide mobile home and crews had the fire under control by 6:11 a.m.  

The fire is still under investigation but no injuries were reported.
