Las Vegas breaking news for January 18, 2018

This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for January 18, 2018.

8:30 P.M.

Las Vegas police are investigating a homicide near Lewis Family Park, near East Sahara Avenue and Tree Line Drive. Police say a vehicle pulled up and shot the victim at 7:31 p.m. Homicide is en route and will provide more details as the investigation continues. 

4:08 P.M.

Las Vegas Search and Rescue found a body in the Frenchman Mountain area. READ MORE.

7 A.M.

A truck has flipped over on Las Vegas Boulevard, near Russell Road blocking several lanes.

6:30 A.M.

Fire crews are attending to a house fire near Robindale Road and Eastern Avenue. The fire was reported at 2342 Heavenly Lights Ave. Upon arrival, personnel reported smoke and flame showing from the garage of a single-story house that was fully involved with fire. The fire quickly spread to the attic of the home. Crews made an offensive attack and knocked the fire down at a reported time of 650 a.m.. The fire is under investigation. American Red Cross was requested to assist with two adults that were displaced as a result of the incident. No injuries were reported. Damages have not been estimated.

6 A.M.

A crash on Tropicana Avenue, near Interstate 15 is causing a traffic backup in the area.

1:18 A.M.

A motorcycle was struck by an SUV near Blue Diamond Road and Jones Boulevard.

There's no word on the extent of the injuries suffered by the motorcyclist but the team that investigates fatal accidents were on the scene of the incident.
