The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

10:30 P.M.
16-year-old Byron Worthye-Avila is missing. Last seen near Desert Inn Road and Cabana around 2 p.m. Jan. 17. He was wearing a maroon shirt, black jacket, blue jeans and green Nikes. He may be suffering from severe emotional distress. He is 5-feet 10-inches tall and 145 pounds.

7:55 P.M.
Las Vegas police are investigating a homicide in the 5100 block of Del Monte Avenue near South Decatur Boulevard and West Oakey Boulevard. No other details are available at this time. Please avoid the area.

4:30 P.M.
Police say that the 69-year-old woman who was reported missing earlier today has been found and she is safe. Police say that an employee of a local business recognized her after seeing her photo on TV and called the police. She has been reunited with her family.

2 P.M.
Police say a man was shot by a casino security guard in the 120 block of Fremont Street around 2 p.m. The man was transported to University Medical Center where he died. At this time, it is not known why the man was shot. Roads and walkways are closed in the area.

2 P.M.
The Red Rock Canyon scenic loop is currently closed due to flooding. It will reopen when the road is clear again.

1:30 P.M.
69-year-old Barbara Hudson is missing. Last seen Jan. 16 near Pavilion Center and Charleston. She was wearing grey leggings, a long t-shirt, black jacket and white. shoes. She suffers from Alzheimer's and may need help.

12:20 P.M.
Police have cleared the scene at Bank of America in downtown Las Vegas.

12:04 P.M.
The suspicious package in downtown Las Vegas has been rendered safe. Police are still investigating the incident.

9:44 A.M.
Police are investigating a suspicious package at Bank of America in the 300 block of South Fourth Street near Bridger. Police say they received a call about a robbery in progress at 9:44 a.m. Upon arrival, they took someone into custody but then noticed a suspicious package. The immediate area has been evacuated.
