The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

9 P.M.
North Las Vegas Fire Department officials report a fatal fire occurred at a residence located on the 3100 block of Carroll Street, near East Cheyenne Avenue and Civic Center Drive. Four engines responded to the single story residence that was engulfed in smoke and flames. Most of the doors and windows of the structure were boarded up. Firefighters knocked down the fire in about an hour and the body of an unknown aged male was found inside. It is unknown if the victim was the resident or known to the property owner. Fire investigators are working with North Las Vegas Police officials and the Clark County Coroner's Office to determine the cause of death for the person.

The Clark County coroner identified the deceased on Feb. 5 as 47-year-old Luciano Hernandez Machuca from North Las Vegas. Cause of death is still pending.

3:31 P.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue respond to a fire on Santa Catalina Avenue need Jones Boulevard and Gowan Road. 1 adult, 3 children and 2 dogs displaced. No injuries reported.

9:23 A.M.
Clark County Fire Department responded to a fire in a vacant building at 4386 S. Eastern Ave. Firefighters made an offensive attack and located the fire on the third floor and knocked the fire down at a reported time of 933am. Crews searched the three-story building which also had a basement and found no occupants. There have been no injuries reported. Damage has not been estimated. The fire is under investigation.

8:43 A.M.
Las Vegas police say that the barricade has ended at University Medical Center. A female has been taken into custody and the hospital is no longer on lockdown. Streets are reopening.

UMC sent the following statement:

“UMC’s dedicated Public Safety team worked in collaboration with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department today in response to an incident involving a person in a vehicle outside of the hospital’s Adult Emergency Department. UMC’s Public Safety officers were fully prepared for the situation and responded rapidly to ensure the safety of patients, visitors and employees. As a provider of life-saving resources for our community, UMC maintains the highest standards of safety, including frequent training exercises in partnership with law enforcement agencies.”

6:25 A.M.
There are multiple police officers at University Medical Center for an incident in one of their parking lots. The hospital is on lockdown as a precaution. A hospital spokesperson says everyone is "safe." Police say that a man and woman got into a fight and the woman allegedly hurt the man. She then brought him to UMC for medical treatement, Once at the hospital, he called police. When officers arrived, she was inside a vehicle in a parking lot. She refused to exit the vehicle and brandished a weapon. SWAT and negotiators are on scene. The ER side of UMC is not accessible to public at this time. The trauma side is not affected. Tonopah between Charleston Boulevard and Palomino is closed and Rancho Lane between Tonopah and Rancho Drive is blocked off.

5:49 A.M.
Injury crash on US 95 near Rainbow Boulevard. Right lanes are currently blocked.

5:15 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue respond to an apartment fire on Chartered Circle near Owens and Eastern avenues.

3:26 A.M.
Las Vegas police receive report that 2 people are shooting at each other. Officers have not located any victims or shooters. They did find evidence of gunfire and are still on the scene. Northbound Mountain Vista Street from Russell Road to Eastern Avenue is currently closed.
