The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

3:15 P.M.
Power has been restored at The Strat and to the other customers, except 1, in zip code 89101.

2:45 P.M.
More than 570 customers are currently without power in the 89101 zip code, which includes The Strat hotel-casino. The outage was caused by a mylar balloon, according to NV Energy. They are expecting restoration by 4:30 p.m.

UPDATE 1:14 P.M.
The scene is clear at a shopping center near Eastern and Tropicana avenues after a "suspect device" investigation beginning around 11:30 this morning. Police say stuff was dropped off at Savers in the area, and as employees were going through the stuff, they found something that looked suspicious and called police. Officers also believed the device was suspicious and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue's bomb squad was called in to investigate further. The bomb squad determined the device was not a threat and the scene was cleared. Police did not specify what the device was or what they thought it was.

11:33 A.M.
Las Vegas police say officers are investigating a "possible suspect" device at a shopping center near Eastern and Tropicana avenues. Authorities say there are no road closures in the area but some of the nearby businesses have been evacuated. Las Vegas Fire and Rescue says the department's bomb squad has been called in to assist. We have a crew on the way, check back for updates.

9:13 A.M.
Henderson Fire Department responding to fire at 713 Taliput Palm Place near U.S. 95 and West Sunset Road. Fire started in bedroom. Out before fire department arrived. At least one smoke inhalation victim.

5:15 A.M.
Clark County firefighters are on scene of a fire at Hullum Homes on Owens Avenue near Nellis Boulevard. Chopper 13 was over the area and the fire appears to be knocked down. No word on injuries or if anyone was displaced. Check back for more information.
