The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

4:07 P.M.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to a fire at 7168 Campbell Road near West Elkhorn Road. All occupants escaped safely and the fire is knocked down.

1:24 P.M.
Las Vegas firefighters say a homeless man was brought to the hospital for smoke inhalation with minor injuries after he was found in drain pipe under Union Pacific tracks near Owens Avenue and Interstate 15. Crews think he may have lit a fire to keep warm. The fire is out and there are no other injuries to report, authorities say.

3:27 A.M.
Las Vegas police say two groups of people got into an argument inside the business on Jones Boulevard near Desert Inn Road shortly before 3:30 a.m. The argument turned physical which prompted two armed security officers to intervene and deploy their pepper spray, police say. As security officers were ushering people outside, police say a man pulled up in a BMW and fired at least one shot toward the security officers who were standing outside the business. At least one security officer returned fire at the suspect as he drove westbound out of the parking lot. The suspect drove to the Dotty's at 2940 South Durango where he was taken into custody when he exited the business, according to authorities.

1:30 A.M.
A car traveling north on Frank Sinatra Drive hit a traffic light control box near Sammy Davis Jr. Drive shortly before 1:30 a.m., police say. All lights/traffic control devices at the intersection are disabled. Police believe impairment was suspected. There were no injuries to report. Police say driver was arrested. County works responded and is actively working on restoring functionality to the intersection, but it is not expected to be operational for several more hours. Avoid the area.

1 A.M.
Las Vegas police are looking for a man in his 20s or 30s after authorities say he burglarized the Sports Deli inside Sam's Town Hotel & Gambling Hall with a box cutter. Police say he pulled out the box cutter and told the clerk to give him all the cash from the register shortly before 1 p.m. He was last seen walking northbound on Nellis Boulevard. No suspect information was immediately available. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 to remain anonymous.
