The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

UPDATE:
NHP responded to a fatal traffic crash on I-15 southbound at Clark County mile marker 67 at 5:49pm on the evening of Dec. 30. For reasons unknown, the driver of a 1997 dark colored Toyota 4 Runner lost control of the vehicle and ran off of the roadway. The Toyota then overturned, partially ejecting the driver who does not appear to have been wearing a seat belt. The driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The female passenger was transported to UMC with a non-life threatening injury. The coroner identified the driver as 26-year-old Patrick Gregory Bayers II.

6 P.M.
Crews are responding to a deadly crash on southbound Interstate 15 near the Valley of Fire Highway. It happened shortly before 5:40 p.m. near mile marker 67.

UPDATE DEC. 30: The Clark County coroner has identified the deceased as 26-year-old Patrick Gregory Bayers, II. His official cause of death and manner are still pending.

UPDATE 3:40 P.M.
Three people are displaced after a fire on Sun Shores Drive, according to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue. The agency had the fire knocked down in about 10 minutes, though crews are still on the scene checking for hotspots. There are no reported injuries. The American Red Cross is helping those displaced.

3:30 P.M.
Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in west Las Vegas on Sun Shores Drive in the Desert Shores community. Officials believe all occupants of the house are outside and say there are no injuries to report.
