The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

5:02 P.M.
A man in a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle on East Tropicana Avenue at South Sandhill Road. The man died on Dec. 26. The coroner identified him as 58-year-old Jeffrey Barrett.

UPDATE FROM DEC. 20
Authorities report one person died and seven others were injured in a deadly head-on crash in Death Valley. A Nissan attempted to pass another vehicle but it did not have sufficient clearance. The Nissan collided head-on, causing major damage to vehicles with a passenger deceased and multiple victims sent to the hospital.

4:49 P.M.
Las Vegas police report a collision closed a few lanes of travel on Lake Mead Boulevard at Rock Springs. One person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries but traffic was slowed at the scene for the investigation.

1:29 P.M.
The Nevada Highway Patrol announced restrictions are in place on Mount Charleston when it comes to snow chains and four-wheel drive needed for travel as snow is impacting travel in the mountains. READ MORE

6:12 A.M.
Las Vegas police are reporting a crash with injuries near Flamingo Road and Nellis Boulevard.

6 A.M.
North Las Vegas Police are investigating the death of a 7-day-old baby. Police say the infant's mother fell asleep after feeding the baby on her chest. When the woman woke up, she found the newborn pinned between her body and the couch. The baby's death is not considered suspicious at this time. The official cause of death is pending toxicology results.

5:55 A.M.
A crash in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 near Cheyenne Avenue is causing major delays.

5:45 A.M.Clark County Fire Department is on the scene of a structure fire at 2442 N. Las Vegas Boulevard near East Carey Avenue.

5:43 A.M.
Las Vegas police are on the scene of a crash with injuries near Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Road. Police believe that impairment was a factor and that one of the drivers was ejected from a vehicle.
