The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.
UPDATE 8:55 P.M.
Las Vegas police say officers attempted to stop a vehicle near Harmon Avenue and Boulder Highway just before 7 p.m. The vehicle drove off at a high rate of speed and hit two trucks on the Boulder Highway, police say. As it hit the second truck, both vehicles caught fire. Two suspects were taken into custody and officers later learned the suspect vehicle was reported stolen. Both suspects were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries reported. READ MORE
Lane closures in the area should be clear in about 20-30 minutes, police say.
8:45 P.M.
Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on US-95 at mile marker 34 in Nye County. NHP says Toyota drifted over the center line on the US-95 and crashed into a pickup truck. A passenger in the Toyota died, authorities say, and the driver and other passenger are in critical condition. The two occupants of the truck are in serious condition. Traffic is be routed around the crash at 373 but can get back on the US-95, NHP says. One car is from Idaho and the other is from Nevada, though authorities didn't specify which.

8:45 P.M.
Clark County Fire Department responded to a fire at 1753 Arden St., near Charelston and Nellis boulevards. No injuries were reported. Damages to the single-story home have not been estimated.

Tropicana Avenue has reopened after the crash earlier today involving a pedestrian.
3 P.M.
Tropicana Avenue is still closed in both directions between Valley View and Procyon. Motorists should seek alternative routes.

Police say a woman was hit by a vehicle near Tropicana Avenue and Procyon Street. She was taken to UMC Trauma in serious condition. Some lanes of Tropicana are currently closed between Procyon and Valley View Boulevard.
