The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.
UPDATE 8:21 P.M.
The Nevada Division of State Parks says the Big Bend State Park fire is 50% contained with 102.5 acres affected and holding. Clark County Fire Department as well as units from Boulder CIty, Bullhead City, Fort Mojave and the Bureau of Land Management are fighting the fire.
3:45 P.M.
LVMPD Laughlin ask the public to please avoid Needles Highway near Big Bend State Park due to a fire.
Large fire near Big Bend State Park. Needles Highway is shut down in both directions, please avoid the area.

10:28 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire and Rescue and North Las Vegas Fire Department firefighters responded to a one story home on the 2300 block of Willoughby Avenue, near East Washington Avenue and North Eastern Avenue, with heavy flames coming from the backyard. The fire was under control in less than 15 minutes. Damage was estimated at $75,000 and the cause of the fire is undetermined. The Red Cross is assisting the three adults and one child who were displaced by the fire.
