This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for July 18, 2017.

8:31 P.M.

Clark County Fire Department responded to a downstairs apartment on fire at 3064 Kishner Drive.  Crews had the fire knocked down by 8:40 P.M.  There were no injuries but one cat was rescued from the apartment above the burned unit.  The American Red Cross is assisting the occupants of two apartments with relocation for four adults and one animal.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.

6:31 P.M.

LVMPD says a person was found dead near the Las Vegas Motor Speedway track.  According to the Clark County Fire Department, there are no signs of trauma.  The cause of death was initially considered to be unnatural, but police have since decided the opposite.

3:25 P.M.

A U-Haul truck caught fire and briefly closed down the Jones Boulevard off-ramp on eastbound 215.

2:15 P.M.

A shooting involving Las Vegas police is under investigation in the 6700 block of North Durango Drive in Centennial Hills. A suspect has been taken into custody. No officers were injured. READ MORE.

3:38 A.M.

The Clark County Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at 3642 Boulder Highway #340, near Sahara Avenue.

Firefighters reported a mobile home that was covered with smoke and flame. Crews knocked the fire down in approximately 10 minutes.

The fire is under investigation.
