How to help Gatlinburg victims

  • The Community Foundation of Tennessee has launched a Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville Emergency Response Fund to support the affected communities and nonprofits that are helping victims address their ongoing needs. Grants from the Fund will be made to nonprofits providing assistance both immediate and long term.
  • The American Red Cross is looking for monetary donations to help provide shelter, clothing and other day-to day necessities.

How to help Oakland victims

  • A fundraising page on YouCaring.com has been established for people to donate with two professional sports — Major League Baseball's Oakland A's and National Football League 's Oakland Raiders — offering to match $50,000 each for a total of $100,000 toward the fund.
  • The Grey Area Foundation for the Arts also has a fundraising page that has collected nearly $250,000 to support those left behind to take care of medical expenses, daily expenses and more.
