Henderson Police arrested a Las Vegas man on Thursday for exploiting an elderly female customer.

Thomas Fico, 59, was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on multiple charges of theft, exploitation of an older/vulnerable person, and forgery.

He is accused of scamming a 95-year-old military veteran out of nearly $100,000 after having gained her trust performing landscaping jobs.

Over a six month period, Fico had fraudulently obtained the funds by writing checks from her checking account and depositing them into his personal accounts.

In addition to the check writing, he coerced her into becoming the executor of her last will and testament. She had planned to leave her estate to military organizations assisting with disabled veterans.

Fico was arrested outside his Las Vegas home on Thursday, April 7 without incident.

During the course of the investigation, detectives discovered information leading them to believe there could be additional victims who have not come forward.

Anyone with information regarding possible victims connected to Fico is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
