LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Police in Las Vegas are investigating the second robbery turned deadly shooting of New Year's Eve and say they believe the two events are connected.

The latest shooting happened around 6:15 p.m. in the parking garage at Palace Station on West Sahara Avenue near Rancho Drive.

The man killed is believed to be around 50 years old and was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity will be released by the coroner's office.

Authorities say they have two suspects in custody and there is no longer a threat to the public.

Earlier in the day, around 1:30 p.m., police say a 66-year-old woman was shot and killed when someone tried to steal her purse inside a parking garage at the Fashion Show Mall on the Las Vegas Strip.
