HENDERSON (KTNV) — An investigation is underway after a shooting involving Henderson Police near the 1000 block of Center Street at around 9:43 a.m.

Henderson Police say that they received a call about a man trying to kidnap a woman and forcing her into their car. According to police, the suspect did know the victim.

When police arrived at the scene, they say the suspect was attempting to run away. Police gave the suspect several commands, but the man proceeded to ignore them.

According to police, the suspect drove towards officers, which resulted in shots being fired by Henderson Police officers.

The suspect was struck and fled the scene. Shortly after, police received a 911 call from a home in Las Vegas, and the suspect was transported to UMC, where he is in critical but stable condition.

No officers were injured. Those involved were later identified by HPD as Officer Ernesto Trejo and Officer Riley Gee. Both officers have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

This is the third shooting involving police in the City of Henderson for 2025.
