UPDATE 12:26 A.M.: A lithium battery fire at Townsite Solar in Boulder City continued to burn early Wednesday morning after two Tesla Megapack battery units ignited, prompting a multi-agency response south of Interstate 11 near US 95.

The initial 911 call came in at 6:57 p.m. for a lithium battery fire at the solar facility.
Boulder City Fire Department's first unit arrived within 8 minutes and worked with on-site employees to confirm that a Tesla Megapack battery unit was fully involved in flames.
During the incident, a second battery pack ignited. As of 11:45 p.m., both battery units continued to burn and smolder.
Henderson Fire Department and Clark County Fire Department were called to assist with the response, but have since been released.
The Nevada Department of Transportation was also requested to ensure Interstate 11 remained clear of bystanders.
Boulder City Fire Department units remain on scene with company representatives to monitor the fires.
"At this time there is no threats or dangers to the public," Boulder City Deputy Fire Chief Greg Chesser tells Channel 13.
ORIGINAL STORY: BOULDER CITY (KTNV) — A fire broke out at Townsite Solar in Boulder City, south of Interstate 11 near US 95, on Tuesday night, according to the Boulder City Police Department.
The fire is expected to burn over the next four to five hours.
Boulder City Fire Department and the Henderson Fire Department are on the scene.
In an Instagram post, the Boulder City Police Department asks the public to avoid the area.
