LAS VEGAS (AP) — The top federal prosecutor in Las Vegas says two Nevada organizations will, together, receive almost $1 million in grants to provide transitional or short-term housing help for victims of human trafficking crimes.

U.S. Attorney Nicholas Trutanich said Rite of Passage Adolescent Treatment Centers in Minden and Hookers for Jesus in Las Vegas were named for grants from the Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime.

The funds are to help trafficking victims find temporary shelter and permanent homes, employment and counseling.
