LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A 17-year-old boy is now jailed in connection with the death of a 61-year-old woman found lying on an east Las Vegas sidewalk on April 21.
On Wednesday, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced a suspect was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder with a deadly weapon. Because the suspect is under 18, he was not publicly identified by police.
The investigation began with the discovery of a woman's body in the 3500 block of East Bonanza Road (near Pecos Road) just after 8 a.m., police said previously.
Detectives believed the woman, who was identified Thursday by the Clark County Coroner's Office as Marceline Biasini, was beaten at some point during the night. Officers found the woman with "apparent injuries," and she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The coroner's office ruled Biasini's death a homicide from blunt force trauma.
