LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — An investigation is underway in east Las Vegas after three people were shot inside a residence, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says.
Police were called just before 10 a.m. to the 1600 block of East Rochelle Avenue, near Maryland Parkway, LVMPD officials said.
Homicide investigators were brought in after patrol officers found three people with gunshot wounds, two of whom were pronounced dead on scene.
Homicide Lt. Robert Price says investigators believe the shooter, a man in his 40s, shot and killed his mother and father inside the home. Price says the man then shot himself while on the phone with 911 dispatchers.
The man was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where police say he later died.
As of this report, none of the persons involved has been publicly identified.
