Las Vegas police seek leads in woman's August death

Las Vegas police are continuing to seek information after a woman was found dead at Tahiti Village in August.

Around 2:40 a.m. Aug. 15, patrol officers were dispatched to the 7200 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard for a report of an unresponsive woman near a parking garage. Arriving officers located a woman who had suffered from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 20-year-old Bailley Short, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives said the woman had been walking with an unknown male an hour before she was found. The suspect has not been identified and the motive is unknown.

Police provided a photo of Short from June in hopes of finding more information of her whereabouts in the days before her death.
