LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — On Oct. 24 at approximately 6:21 p.m., Las Vegas patrol officers responded to an apartment complex located in the 2900 block of Marlin Avenue for reports of a shooting.

Arriving officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to UMC Trauma where he later died.

The preliminary investigation conducted by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicates the victim and his girlfriend had been in an ongoing dispute with a neighbor, later identified as 34-year-old Toalian Banks.

Police say that when the girlfriend arrived home from work and as she walked through the courtyard, she was approached by Banks who began pushing her. Several people tried to intervene and Banks began pepper spraying everyone.
