UPDATE OCT. 26: The Clark County Coroner has identified the victim as Marcus Jeremiah Dumpson from Las Vegas. Dumpson's cause of death was a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was ruled a homicide.

ORIGINAL STORY
Las Vegas police are conducting a homicide investigation on Marlin Avenue, near Mojave Road and Stewart Avenue.

Lt. Ray Spencer said that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was contacted several times about a man being shot shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday evening.

Police discovered a male in his early 30s who had a single gunshot wound. He was transported to University Medical Center Trauma where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told officers that the incident began with neighbors arguing which escalated to a physical argument where the suspect, a black woman in her mid 30s, pulled a gun and shot the victim.

According to Spencer, several neighbors tackled the suspect and wrestled the gun away from her before she fled the scene and left her two children behind.

Police have discovered that there has been an ongoing dispute between the neighbors, including several arguments over a barking dog.

Child Protective Services were called in to take possession of the children.
