A man wanted in a 2005 cold case murder has been confirmed dead, according to Las Vegas police.

On Aug. 6, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department cold case detectives issued an arrest warrant for 48-year-old Dino Marks after he was identified through DNA testing.

A caller let investigators know that Marks is dead. Investigators then followed up on the call and confirmed the information.

Marks had been wanted in the Dec. 9, 2005 death of 84-year-old Dorothy Sargent. She was found asphyxiated in her residence in the 2200 block of Isabelle Avenue, near Fremont Street and Eastern Avenue.
