LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are investigating a hit-and-run that left a motorcyclist dead early Saturday morning.
Police said the crash happened at the intersection of East Tropicana Avenue and Mountain Vista Street around 3:40 a.m.
Through their initial investigation, police said the motorcyclist was going westbound on Tropicana when an eastbound 2018 Chevrolet pickup attempted to turn onto Mountain Vista, failing to yield right of way.
Police said the motorcyclist collided with the truck, which fled the scene and left no identifying information.
Emergency medical personnel responded, but, despite life-saving efforts, the motorcyclist died from his injuries.
This marks the 147th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD's jurisdiction for 2025.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested Souriyadeth Markthepharack, a tattoo artist, on Aug. 27 after investigating a sexual assault incident involving two teenage girls. Channel 13 obtained an arrest report from LVMPD to learn more. According to an interview with the victims, they knew Markthepharack as the father of a male one of the girls said she was involved with. They said they were told to contact Markthepharack whenever they wanted free tattoos.
Las Vegas police officer arrested on charges of theft, burglary and perjury
A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center Wednesday on multiple charges. According to LVMPD, Antonio Chavez, 28, is charged with theft ($25K - $100K), four counts of burglary of a business and perjury.
