Las Vegas police are investigating two homicides that happened within 30 minutes of each other on Friday.

The first took place at a storage facility near Lake Mead Boulevard and Buffalo Drive around 7 p.m.

Police say there was an altercation between an employee of the storage facility and another subject. The employee shot the subject, who later died from his injury.

Another worker said that the employee was justified in the shooting. The worker told police that the employee was trying to stop a crime in progress.

It is unclear at this time if the employee will be charged with a crime.

The second fatal shooting happened on a sidewalk near Bonanza Road and Lamb Boulevard.

Witnesses heard a verbal argument followed by gunshots. The victim was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

So far police are still looking for the suspect in this case.
