LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Like many other social services, adoption agencies have had to adjust their operations due to challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Placements are taking longer, but they are happening.
Today, 13 Action News anchor Dave Courvoisier introduced viewers to a local couple who's overcoming the challenges of adoption during a pandemic.
Raquel and her husband Brian went through the fertility process a few times before deciding to adopt.
It is an open adoption, meaning they are keeping in touch with the mother.
Loving Hearts Adoption Services helped with the process. Their fee is based on the parents’ income and can range from $15,000 to $30,000.
