LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — To help stop the spread of COVID-19 and promote the contact tracing app, the state of Nevada is launching a multi-city parade with stops throughout Las Vegas, Reno and Carson City.

On Wednesday, performers, celebrities, entertainers, and more came together to help promote the app to the public.

"It's built to exchange information behind the scenes. So Google and Apple have built the infrastructure so if you're around individuals and someone you're around may test positive. You'll be able to be notified that you may have been exposed to someone. Without any of your private information or confidential information being compromised. It's a completely anonymous notification," said Greg Chase, with Experience Strategy Associates.

Additional pop-up performances are scheduled, including at the Nevada State Capitol Building on Oct. 30.
