LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Southern Nevada Health District is reporting 890 new cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the total number of cases in Clark County to 81,684 . The Health District is also reporting seven new COVID-19 deaths.
The increase in new case reports is not unexpected as we are seeing continued community transmission and people continue to get tested However, the increase in the positivity rate serves as a stark reminder to the public of the importance of following public health recommendations to protect themselves and others to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the community.

People should continue to limit their time in public and wear face coverings when in contact with anyone outside their household. If someone is sick, they should stay home. If they have been in contact with a person who has COVID-19 or think they have been exposed, they should get tested. People should stay home and away from others for 14 days from the last day of their possible exposure.
Additional preventive measures include frequent handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces. The Health District is also encouraging everyone to get a flu shot this season. Flu vaccine is available at Health District immunization clinics, and upcoming community clinics.
