Man killed overnight, bull on the run, shooting

Here is the latest breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for April 16.

10 P.M.

A man was shot around 8 p.m. at the Newport Village Apartments in the 1800 block of West Gowan Road near North Martin Luther King Boulevard. The man was transported to UMC in critical condition. A suspect is not in custody and there is no suspect information at this time. 

6 P.M.

Eight people were transported with non-life-threatening injuries after two vehicles rolled over on Interstate 15 at mile marker 72 at 4:04 p.m. All lanes were closed for about 30 minutes until the vehicles could be moved. 

5:45 P.M.

An elderly woman was taken to hospital as precaution for minor smoke inhalation after a pot caught fire on a stove at a residence on Byrnes Avenue near West Lake Mead Boulevard.

1 P.M.

2 people were shot around 12:30 p.m. in a parking lot of a 24 Hour Fitness gym in the 600 block of South Rainbow Boulevard between Alta Drive and Charleston Boulevard. A man was shot in his upper body and a female was shot in the arm. Both were transported to UMC Trauma. Injuries do not appear life threatening. 

12:15 P.M.

A man was critically injured when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and struck a concrete barrier. It happened at approximately 5:55 a.m. near North Eastern Avenue and Valley Street. He was transported to UMC Trauma.

12 P.M.

The bull has been successfully loaded into a trailer and the scene is clear.

11 A.M.

There are reports of a bull on the loose near the area of Cheyenne Avenue and Michael Way. Police say that the animal is contained but has not actually been captured.

9 A.M.

A man died just after midnight after being stabbed during a confrontation in the 4000 block of Pennwood Avenue near Valley View Boulevard. READ FULL STORY.
