Homicide detectives responded to a domestic violence incident in the 1600 block of Palmae Way, near Buffalo and Vegas drives Sunday evening.

Police say they got the call just after 8 p.m.
According to Las Vegas police, a verbal altercation between a stepfather and his stepson turned physical. The stepfather was at one point put into a chokehold and became unconscious during the fight.
He was rushed to Mountain View Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Clark County coroner identified him as 48-year-old Robert Rene Kidd of Las Vegas. His cause of death is pending.
The stepson is in custody as police determine what charges he may face.
