1 person, 1 dog dead in Las Vegas fire that prompts multi-agency response

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Authorities are looking into what caused a fire in Las Vegas Tuesday morning that killed one person and one dog.

Both Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue responded to reports of the fire on Betty Lane, near Nellis Boulevard and Owens Avenue, shortly before 7:20 a.m. Crews say the "high" level fire was knocked down about 15 minutes later.

The cause of the fire remains unknown and damages have not yet been estimated.

The coroner will release the name and the official cause of death of the deceased.
