Las Vegas breaking news for October 19, 2018

This is a roundup of all the breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley for October 19, 2018.

9:35 P.M.

Authorities are at the scene of a crash that involved a vehicle and a pedestrian near Russell Road and Decatur Boulevard. Police reported the person on foot has been transported to the hospital in unknown condition with Russell Road closed between Cameron Street and Decatur for the on-scene investigation. 

8:45 P.M.

Las Vegas police are investigating an injury accident that involved a pedestrian near Nellis Boulevard and Vegas Valley Drive. Officers said an intoxicated person was attempting to cross the street outside of a crosswalk when struck by a vehicle. No serious injuries were reported in the incident. 

4 P.M.

Due to the wind, there is a Traffic Management Program in effect for flights arriving at McCarran Airport. This is causing some flights to be delayed by about 50 minutes, according to air traffic control.

3:55 P.M.

The Clark County Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at 5101 E. Twain Avenue. Upon arrival, personnel reported smoke coming from the first floor of a building inside the complex. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames without any injuries reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
