The Vegas Golden Knights announced today that the organization will be partnering with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive at City National Arena on the Star Nursery Rink on April 24 from 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Because of social distancing guidelines and safety precautions, the event will be limited to essential working staff and participants only.

The event will not be open to the general public or media.

Amid coronavirus concerns, the Vegas community has shown an outpouring of support by scheduling and filling all blood donation appointments.

Nevertheless, the Red Cross and the Vegas Golden Knights are taking this opportunity to encourage healthy individuals to continue to schedule and keep donation appointments for other available blood drives across the state in the weeks ahead to ensure a stable supply throughout this pandemic.

Donors of all blood types are needed, especially those with type O negative. According to the Red Cross, type O negative is the universal blood type that can be transfused to anyone and is often used to treat trauma patients.

At this time, all appointment slots have been filled.

Only those who have registered in advance and have a confirmed appointment time will be able to donate. Unfortunately, walk-ins cannot be accommodated.
