Wind advisory through Tuesday afternoon

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the Las Vegas valley from 10 a.m. Monday to 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The southern and western ends of the valley will be hit the hardest, especially around Mountain's Edge and Summerlin. Expect gusts up to 35 to 45 miles per hour.

Meanwhile, the Spring Mountains could see gusts up to 70 miles per hour. This includes Mt. Charleston and Red Rock Canyon.

Motorists could be impacted by bursts of strong winds, along with dust and sand.

Hazardous boating conditions are expected on Lake Mead, while the winds will be lighter on Lake Mohave.
