1 dead after shooting in downtown Las Vegas

UPDATE: 13 Action News has learned that the shooting victim died from his injuries on Wednesday morning.


Homicide detectives determined the victim was standing in the doorway of a motel room when he got into a verbal argument with an unknown suspect. The suspect opened fire striking the victim, and drove off in a white 4-door sedan with dark tinted windows. The vehicle was last seen driving eastbound on Fremont Street.

The suspect is described as a tall, Hispanic or Filipino adult male in his 20s and having  a skinny build. He was also described as wearing a black hat, white T-shirt, and a black hooded sweatshirt.

The identity of the deceased victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

This is the 53rd homicide investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2016.

The man is in critical condition. Police are on the lookout for two suspects.
