A $7.67 million project hopes to fix up Tropicana Avenue between Eastern Avenue and Boulder Hwy.
The construction on that east stretch of Tropicana is to improve road conditions, including fixing pot holes. Road work takes up four miles of the road.
The Nevada Department of Transportation will also widen sidewalks and raise the center median islands.
NDOT is spearheading the project because Tropicana Avenue is designated as a state highway.
There are lane restrictions, some 24-hours a day, in the area. To avoid the area use Harmon or Hacienda avenues -- the two adjacent smaller streets. Larger street options include Flamingo or Russell roads.
Construction should wrap up this fall.
