With over 300,000 visitors expected to visit the Las Vegas valley over Memorial Day Weekend, the Nevada Highway Patrol will partner with the California Highway Patrol to step up enforcement along the Interstate 15 corridor between California and Las Vegas.

According to a press release from NHP, the I-15 corridor is one of the most deadly stretches of highway in the country. Troopers say their collaborative efforts with CHP have helped reduce the number of fatal crashes through enforcement and education.

NHP and CHP troopers will focus their efforts on speed infractions, the move over law, and distracted driving violations. There will also be signs along I-15 with messages such as "Move Over or Slow Down for Stopped Emergency Vehicles" and "Entering NHP Zero Tolerance Zone."

CHP will also use their fix-winged aircraft that measures speed from the air.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Henderson Police are also participating in the joint enforcement effort over Memorial Day Weekend.
