We're learning more from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) about a fatal crash involving a moped.
The collision happened around 11:44 a.m. on Friday on South Rainbow Boulevard, south of West Mountain's Edge Parkway.
An 87-year-old male moped driver lost control of his vehicle, ran into a raised median, and hit a Mazda traveling northbound in the area.
The moped rider was run over, and was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures.
The Mazda's driver was injured and treated at the scene. Police said that the driver did not show signs of impairment, and cooperated with their investigation.
The moped driver's death marks the 77th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction for 2026.
This incident is still under investigation.

One person is dead after a motorcycle crash in the south valley on Friday.
Details are limited, but the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed it happened in the area of Rainbow and Laguna Creek Avenue, near Cactus Avenue.
The motorcyclist has been pronounced dead at the scene.
This is a developing report.
