The 215 in the southwest will have intermittent closures very early Tuesday and some on- and off-ramps in the area will also be closed overnight next week, as work continues the highway widening project there.

The eastbound side of the 215 between Decatur Boulevard and the I-15 in the southwest will close for 20 minutes at a time between 1 and 3 a.m. July 28.

Law enforcement will be assisting with the closures, during which drivers will be forced to wait. The off-ramps approaching the closures will be open during this time.

The intermittent closures are necessary so crews can safely install a sign bridge, which is a large steel structure that highway signs are attached too.

On the following nights, there will be some closures of the on- and -off-ramps at 215 and Decatur. The closures will be from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to avoid the busiest travel times.

- From 9 p.m. July 28, to 5 a.m. July 29, the eastbound 215 off-ramp to Decatur and the on-ramp from Decatur to westbound 215 will be closed.

- From 9 p.m. July 29, to 5 a.m. July 30, the on-ramp from Decatur to eastbound 215 and the westbound 215 off-ramp to Decatur will be closed.

- From 9 p.m. July 30, to 5 a.m. July 31, the eastbound 215 off-ramp to Decatur will be closed.

The closures are necessary as crews continue work on a project that will widen the 215 to add a fourth lane on each side of the highway.

Las Vegas Paving is the contractor for the project, which is expected to be finished in February.
