LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The RTC has shared information with us regarding a traffic incident in Winchester this evening.
According to the RTC, a crash has blocked off all eastbound lanes on Desert Inn Road after Valley View Boulevard.
Traffic cameras are showing all roadways in the area cleared off by emergency vehicles.
We reached out to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) to learn more. Metro shared that the incident was a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was traveling on eastbound Desert Inn over I-15, when hit a rail and fell off his vehicle and over the south guard rail of the arterial. According to police, he then landed in the northbound lanes of I-15, where he was pronounced dead on the scene.
Impairment is unknown at this time, LVMPD said.
Metro advised that several northbound lanes of I-15 will be closed following this incident. Eastbound Desert Inn from Polaris to Paradise will also experience restrictions at this time.
Traffic cameras in the area show northbound I-15 traffic is being diverted to the Spring Mountain off-ramps. Avoid the area, and use alternate routes.
